About This Training

Beauty professionals often build trusted relationships with clients. This training equips you with the knowledge to recognize potential signs of domestic and intimate partner violence, and respond in a supportive, professional, and appropriate way.

This is not clinical training. This is not counseling instruction. This is awareness-based education designed to help you:

• Understand domestic violence and power/control dynamics

• Recognize physical, emotional, and behavioral indicators

• Communicate using trauma-informed principles

• Maintain professional boundaries

• Share resources safely and discreetly

The course is delivered through guided instruction, discussion, and real-world scenarios relevant to salon, barbering, and beauty service environments.

Participants receive a Maryland-specific resource guide for future reference.
